Alan received his Ph.D. in strategic management from Indiana
University in 1995, an MBA from Northern Illinois University in
1989, and a B.S. in Political Science from the University of
Illinois in 1977. Before joining the faculty in the Walton College,
he spent five years as an assistant professor at California State
University, Long Beach. Prior to entering the doctoral program at IU,
Alan held various positions with the Internal Revenue Service in
Chicago, Illinois.
Alan became the Director of MBA Programs at the Walton College in
June 2003. In this capacity he administers the full-time and
managerial MBA programs. He has taught a variety of management
courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Alan's
primary research interests are focused on corporate governance, top
management teams and the influence of the political system on
business operations. His research has appeared in the Academy of
Management Journal, the Strategic Management Journal, the
Journal of
Management and the Journal of International Management as well as
other peer-reviewed journals. |
