I'm Dean Dan Worrell. Welcome to the Sam M. Walton College of
Business.
The Walton College is a nationally competitive business school
that combines excellent student learning experiences - with
quality research that serves Arkansas and the world.
We connect people with organizations and scholarship with
practice.
The Walton College raised over $223.4 million in the University
of Arkansas' Campaign for the Twenty-First Century - to fund top
faculty, students scholarships, academic and research programs,
and capital improvements.
Speaking of facilities, we've completed a four-building business
campus, including the state-of-the-art Willard J. Walker Hall,
home of our graduate school, and the J.B. Hunt Transport
Services Center for Academic Excellence.
Our faculty include some of the country's top teachers and
researchers. They not only work closely with students, but also
are national leaders in their respective areas of business.
The Walton College offers a full range of undergraduate,
master's and doctoral programs. For instance, to increase our
international footprint, we now offer an executive MBA program
in China.
To help prepare our students to be future business and community
leaders, we provide a variety of learning experiences, such as
entrepreneurial business plan competitions, the student-run
business-- S.A.K.E., - and the Global Financial Markets Trading
Center, where students and faculty manage almost $12 million in
real dollars.
Our classrooms are some of the most high-tech in the nation.
Through gifts from major technology companies, we offer our
students a full range of technology learning experiences -
comparable to real-business operations.
Many of our research and outreach programs provide educational
and research services to business executives and community
organizations.
Thanks to the tremendous efforts of our faculty, staff,
students, alumni, friends and donors, the Walton College was
ranked in a tie for 24th place among the nation's top public
undergraduate business schools - by U.S. News & World Report's
America's Best Colleges 2008.
Visit our campus and talk with our students and faculty. We
invite you to learn more about the good things happening at the
Walton College.
Warm regards,
Dan L. Worrell
