CBER Director Kathy Deck Named to AUBER Board
Kathy Deck, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research, was recently elected to serve on the board for the Association for University Business and Economic Research. Deck's role will be to serve as an association director.
Tyson Mentoring Program Students Meet with Tyson Mentors
Nine business students met with Tyson representatives at the Inn at Carnall Hall for dinner on Dec. 2. The students are all Tyson scholarship recipients and participants in the Tyson Mentoring Program, a partnership that the office of diversity and inclusion at the Sam M. Walton college of Business has with Tyson Foods Inc.
Students Invited to Attend Rome Study Abroad Information Session
Students, particularly rising sophomores, have a remarkable opportunity to study in Italy this summer and earn core credits, including Principles of Macroeconomics and Principles of Microeconomics at the U of A Rome Center. Students are invited to learn more about this program in an information session from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 10, in WCOB 343.
Retailers Address Asset Protection Challenges of Mobile POS Technology with Risk Assessment Matrix
The Retail Industry Leaders Association, in partnership with the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business and with support from Checkpoint Systems and Ernst & Young, released a study that identifies the asset protection challenges presented by emerging mobile point of sale technologies and establishes a risk assessment matrix to help retailers adapt current practices to meet future needs.
